Just on my hunting property in St Mary's PA we have 100 acres of our own, there is another camp which the owner of it passed away and his son's who own the property now live in CA that camp is about 500 acres and is not hunted except for by people out of my camp. On the backside of both of our properties is a easily 1000 acres of land owned by the power authority which is landlocked by our properties so no one can get to it without asking permission from us to use the access rd which is gated and locked.
Of course the range of JUST ONEadult male moutain lion is often over 100 square miles! That's over 64,000 acres.Thereis not a single place in the entire state of PA or NY that has that much land that does not contain houses and traveled roads. We like to think about the "wilds" of PA but to a mountain lion it's a pretty congested area.
