Default RE: Is This a fair price on a savage 99?

ORIGINAL: buckstalker1187

I just put a savage model 99 on lay away at gander mt. It is in 300 sav. caliber and is in about 98%++ condition...the wood is flawless (there are absolutly no dings or scratches)and has a snauble forend on it. The lever on it is case colored and is about 99% ++ there are no extra holes, it is all original.

I have seen some of these in far worse condition go for $675. or more at gun shows (if they are all original.) I purchased this one for $425.00

Ithaught this was a deal...what do you guys think?
I think that is a good deal. I would gladly pay that for a 99 Savage in ANY caliber, and call it a bargain!! The .300 is actually a most excellent cartridge!
