Default RE: Antler Restrictions

What is it with everyone in NY? Are you Atlasman's brother? Geeez. Why so defensive?

I'll agree it's not a perfect management system but it's better than none at all believe that. And your examples of young bucks with large racks and old bucks with spikes is ridiculous and 99.9% of the time the exception rather than the rule.
What is it with everyone from "QDM heaven?

Never met Atlasman.

Defensive because one group wants to MANDATE everyone's "trophy"

A study by cnywhitetails.com show 50% plus of our 1 1/2 bucks are 6 pt or better.Even more by 2 1/2. Not the .01% you claim. They are ashooter under points based AR. Targeting the best young bucks is good?

Please show me the studies supporting your statements that only .01% of older bucks in central NY have what AR would consider "non trophy" racks.
My experience suggests otherwise, but show me the proof and I'll believe you.

I agree there is no perfect management system - becauseit is impossible to have a blanket system that will work in all areas. That is why I am againstimplementing a substandard one that may somewhat work for some areas just to have one.

I do support the goal of TRUE QDM, let IMMATURE YOUNG bucks walk, shot some does and encourage others to do the same. But if someone enjoys just hunting deer, I support their right to that also.It is unfortunate that the vast majority of AR proponents (not necessarily you) either haveno idea what QDM really is or simply want to trophy manage (not qdm) everyones hunt to their standards wherever that may fall.
