I have both and the Ruger did need a trigger and bedding job. The Savage shot great right out of the box. Another peeve of mine on the Ruger is that damn 3 position safety. I just can't get used to that. IMO a safety should be either on or off - period.

Wow it always to each their own. I think Rugers safety is the best going. It nice to keep the gun on safe and be able to bolt and unbolt it. You know you could just use 2 positions all the time and would be fine.

They definetly need a trigger job though. I dont understand why they dont put an adjustable in their rifles. They used to have them in the Mark I's, maybe its legal reasons.
