I've read you mentioning before that your .58 caliber is really a .577. Would this be a Springfield Rifle or a military type rifle? I have often thought of getting a Springfield Rifle with the 1-66 twist in ".58" caliber but I talked to a person that owned one, and he claimed it did not shoot anything all that well.He had bought his at Cabela's so I was guessing it was a Pedersoli. I offered to buy it from him but he would not sell. I've often thought about the big minnies if accurate would make about the perfect all around BIG game hunting load...

There is nothing I know of that could take a hit from the kind of load you describe, in the right place of course, and walk off too far...
