i hunt both here in indiana im lucky enough to have landed 770 ac last season in southern in aaaaaaaaaalllll to my self...........a bag of mushrooms to the land owner does wonders....and a huge shed antler to boot........now its all mine......i agree there are more turkey on public land but ive killed bigger ones on private,but to me private land is more like turkey hunting,they respond to calls better.....on public land i feel like im deer hunting cause you dont call,and they run from the decoys.....so your better to wait them out,like deer.........and calling and the responce is what does it for me in turkey hunting.......so i guess its personnel pref..........i dont just like to kill them i like to work them
