Thanks guys for your opinions and info.

The elk went about 100 yards across a meadow the first and about agood 75 yards the 2nd shot and by that time I knew he was a hurting unit and the 3rd shot he dropped. What an awesome sight to see through the scope.
I'm going to chalk it up as, atough animal, a tough bullet, and maybe a litttttle human error (shot placement;wind drift?)
Maybe I'll give the nosler partion a try and see how it shoots out of my rifle. Working on carabou now!
