Where I hunt in SE Minn and SW Wisconsin, I've always hunted private and don't believe there is much for public but I could be mistaken. There is alot of competition from other hunters asking the farmers for permission and the land I do hunt, although private, gets hunted continiously throughout the season so the birds are spooky. I don't use decoys much because I've seen alot of gobblers run the other way when they see them.

In the black hills I've hunted public land the two years I've been out there.
