Hotburn, mineral blocks may be good, but it depends on the location. I have one about 10ft from one of my licks and its been there for about 6 yrs and the only thing that hits on that here is the squirrels and rodents.
I also forgot to mention is you want that salt to dissolve in the ground ASAP, than after you have your rocks and block in place is to pour as much water on it to get the salt into the ground.
Usually most of the near miss collisions with animals that I have are when they come down and eat the salt along the roads.
