85gr. of Goex 2F with .460gr No Excuses in my 1-48 twist barrel. Very accurate, and a lot of power.

90gr. of Goex 3f with .490 ballandpillow ticking patch with bore butter lube in my Green Mountain 1-70 twist barrel when hunting. At the range, I use T/C #13 for patch lube because I get tighter groups with it. The 1-70 twist is great because it is almost as accurate with heavy loads as it is with light charges. Just make sure you have a good patch.

I use 3f with round ball, because of less fouling. Just remember that 90gr. of 3f is probably the same as about 105-110 gr. of 2f. That is how I settled on 90gr.

If you live where blackpowder is easily accessible, that is what I would go with in your sidelock. It is cheaper, and the ignition much faster. At least faster than Pyrodex. I have not had a need to experiment with some of the newer blackpowder substitutes. I probably will someday though.
