i use 2 f not 3f .your barrel will last longer with 2f.ha, i read that somewhere. here we go, i use 2f geoxin my hawkins .50cal 1-48 twist flintlock.i use 80grs. of 2f and MAXI-BALL.370, not the maxi-hunter, i hate them.this load DOES not kick, accurate,easy to load,only 6 dollars for 20 bullets unlubed.i use 54 caliber wonderwad not the .50cal one. i think it seals better on bigger wad.i use BORE BUTTER IN barrel on the MAXI-BALL. lighter loads are better in my shooting as RECOIL can make you flinch and if you flinch, its all over with a flintlock.i would start out with the MAXI-BALL and after you get more shooting, then start playing with roundball at low charges to start. take care.
