I took a boo at the Leupold Euro Scope specs (which is essentially the VX II packaged with a 30mm tube). Here's how it shakes out between the 2 Leuys.

Euro 3x9x40
FOV @100 33.1 (3x) - 13.1 (9x)

VXII 3x9x40
FOV @100 32.3 (3x) - 14.0 (9x)

So you gain FOV at lower power but lose as you increase the power.

Up here a Euro costs a few bucks more than the new VX II, as mentioned with no real benefits to show for the extra coin for the 30mm tube.
