This will be my Third Turkey season.

Turkeys 2 Me 0

The first time I knew nothing about what I was doing.
I got a set of Primos mouth calls.
Spent 8 or so hours learning to use them.
Two days later I was in the woods.
I had turkeys coming in.
But I imatated the wrong sound.
The Putt Putt sound, well that was all for the hunt.LoL

Then the second year.
I went and scouted for at least two months.
I sat in the woods well after dark.
I found where they were roosting.
And where they would be in the early mornings.

I went & set up heard two gobble.
They started getting farther away.
I did some soft yelps.
And one started coming back to me.
He sounded like 100 to 150 yards away.
He was coming closer.
Then he got quiet.
I slowed down on the soft yelps.
Then all of a sudden BOOM.
Then a couple seconds BOOM BOOM.

Well between me and the turkey was another hunter.
About 30 minutes later he walks right by me with,
A nice Tom hung over his sholder.
I asked him if he knew I was there and he said no.
I asked him how long he had been hunting here.
He said it was only his second time here.
I know he had just as much right to be there as me.
I spent over two months scouting.
And he just walks in and Talk about dumb luck.
At least he didn't shoot me.

Oh well maybe this spring will be better.
