Warne maxima rings and bases. Strongest and most cosistant set up you are likely to find and still not break your pocket book. They are a two piece, Weaver style base which, IMHO, is stronger and looks much better than a one piece base.

You should be able to use a low ring with the FF-II scope. I have one mounted on a Remington 700 and another on a Howa and both use low rings with about 1/16th of an inch clearance.
