Default RE: BULLETS USED IN TC HAWKINS FLINTLOCK

The most accurate thing out of my .50 caliber T/C Hawkins Flintlock has to be roundball. I load 90 grains of 3f and a patched roundball and the rifle is amazing. It also shoots the maxiball well. I shoot them with 80 grains of 3f a wonder wad and lube them with home made castor oil/bees wax lube. They also shoot well but the accuracy seems to fall off at 75 yards. I have shot some R.E.A.L. 320 grain and they did real good. Nothing to get excited about mind you, but they shoot all right. For some reason my flinter does not shoot R.E.A.L. conicals as well as my percussion cap Hawkins do.
