All, I was invited to northern Vermont to go coyote hunting by a coworker. I would be traveling to Long Island NY to work for a few days before traveling to Vermont. Can anyone tell me what kind of pain I'm going to have traveling with my rifle to and through Long Island for a hunting trip? Are there restrictions on type of rifles? Transporting ammo? or What?

I'm not worried as much about Vermont as I am going to Long Island. O... it is the far east side of the island in the rual area(not the city side) where I would be staying (if that changed anything). Twin Rivers is the address I think (I'll have to look when I get to work).

I have never traveled out of state to hunt before so traveling via air with a rifle will be new to me. I'm kind of excited as he says their family's land on the north edge of Vermont is crawling with coyotes.
