Seems to me you could sum the whole thread up with:

Being obnoxious about things helps no one. Its a relatively simple issue of geography and discretion. If you live in or near a large metropolitan area where people are a bit sheltered to that sort of thing, you should probably cover the carcass. If you live in Crystal Falls, MI... by all means, show-er-off. Everyone should have a good idea of whats normal and whats shocking in their area. Why be shocking, that's just bad for everyone. As was originally mentioned, there are alot of people who are normally indifferent to you and your activities. You do not want to make enemies of them, because numbers drive legislation and it may not be the kind you like.

And so: don't ever cook your deer on the hood of the family station wagon while behind a school bus full of children.

Pretty simple really... the common sense has just been lost in all the name-calling.
