Well, my first year bowhunting. Some of you may remember my post about a week ago about my "ethics" issue?? For those of you who don't, here's the short version. I gained permission from a guy who owns 200 acres of land. This was a month ago. He told me that another guy does hunt the same land and gave me his name. I contacted that person the same night and informed him that myself and one other person were going to be hunting during bow. Polite as can be (I was). offered to meet him out there and he can show me where not to go and so on ......... Anyway, after about a month of scouting and putting up 6 different stands, I get a phone call at 7:00pm the night before opening day. He tells me that he leased the land and permission to post it from the landowner a couple days ago. He wants us to take out every single stand and we are not allowed to hunt there etc......... After being all geared up and excited and ready to go hunt, it was like getting hit with a sledgehammer. Our conversation ummmmmmmmm turned pretty ugly towards the end. He could've told us a month ago and we would've made arrangements elswhere. He did this purely to be a *&^%$#!!!!! Why deliberately ruin someones hunting season like that?? After threatening bodily harm to him and letting him know that I'm going to take my stands down and shove them up his you know what sideways I hung up. Now what?? Noplace to hunt, have to take stands down on opening day, have to put stands up during hunting season, no scouting in new spot.......... Now we're set up on some land that I know next to nothing about. Like starting over. I'm going to try and forget about it and make the best out of it, but today was just like I didn't even want to be out there I was so pissed. 100% idiot the guy is. No sportsmanship, no common courtesy!!! And to top it off, my head was so out of wack, I go to sit someplace (cause I have no stands set up yet) get situated, and guess what ....no quiver with my arrows. I took it off to do some work on my bow and left it in the case seperate. How did everyone elses day go?? It can only get better I hope.
