I have 2 ADLs one in 22/250 and the other in 30/06. Pull the rubber end plate off the rifle butt and fill it with expanding foam. It helps make the stock quiet if bumped in a stand and helps stop stock flex and twist. Some people put a stock length of 5/8 Re bar then foam it in place. I got the 30/06 almost gave to me because the person who only had it two weeks and shot it a few times said it kicked to much. It will recoil a bit with the lighter stock, but you would be surprised what the foam does to help. It doesn't bother me to much, but is a bit more than a good wooden stock. But for the money they are real good rifles.
