RE: mountain lion killed
Hey Richie!
I was not disagreeing with you about being able to kill, elk, bear whatever, I was just wondering what the difference was. I know down here in the southeastern part of the state, some people got the bright idea to let a couple sows and a boar loose in the Mark Twain National forest. Nobody knows for sure when they were released, but I do know that about 5 years ago, you rarely saw one, or even much sign of where they had been. Now, it's not uncommon to see a group of 10-20 at a time! You also can't go 1/2 a mile through the woods without finding wallows or places where they have been rooting. You are correct about the wildlife code of Missouri being a permissive one. I just wondered why they essentially called an open season on hogs, yet a mountain lion, or bear is protected. Are the lions and bears, a more desirable type of non native animal? Just curious.
