Long Magnum Caliber 7.82 (.308) Warbird
The ammo used for the 7.82 Warbird is loaded using the Federal 215M primer, Dupont IMR 7828 powder, and 150 grain LazerHead bullet.
From a 26” barrel the velocity should be close to 3,700 feet per second. From a 28” barrel it should be about 3,800 feet per second, and both will have about a 12 twist, at 72°F. At this speed the bullet can hold over 90% of its weight, after penetration. This bullet is successful on nearly all game such as a Tennessee Whitetail to a Colorado Elk, weighing 1,000 pounds or more.
Laser flat shooting and speed are attributes, but the best benefit is being able to hit dead on between 350-400 yards in the hands of the shooter. It has also been proved possible to make the big kill from 578 yards in the Colorado Rockies with minimal movement from the bullet. Also, this bullet can typically hit a three shot groups at 100 yards from 1/2 - 1 3/8” and from 2 1/4 - 4” at 300 yards from a cool and clean barrel.
