My interest in this bullet was stimulated by a recovered slug that a customer brought in my shop. Came out of an elk he had killed with a .454 Casull. It was mushroomed to alarge frontal diameter and he indicated that the elk had hit the ground in very short order after the shot. I think he was pushing these bullets to around 1900 fps - about the same as what a magnum muzzleloader would do with a bullet of this weight.
Since deer aren't as dense as elk; I would suspect that, if anything, this bullet might exit a deer - but would probably make a large wound channel in the process. Someone needs to test this bullet out on big game with a muzzleloader . . . . let us know how it works.
