I would rent/borrow a tractor in the 35 HP or better range with a good cutting 8 foot adjustable disc. Cut it up real good, go ahead and take your soil samples, fertilize and seed. You can spread the fertilizer and seed by hand. Next spring you need to lime as recommended.
