I'm guessing jas hasn't lived or knows anyone who lives in the country. Dogs are shot every day due to owners letting them run loose, chase livestock, kill chickens, etc. Not very responsible owners. Nobody I know wants or likes to shoot dogs but sometimes it happens. No different than letting them run loose in the woods. Plus theres laws against letting dogs run loose. Shouldn't blame the ones shooting them, blame the lazy owners for not taking care of their animals.
