RE: TV "Unethical" shots
Good point BOWFANATIC- in the videos I've seen, the cameraman's perspective or view is often different than the shooter's. While some hunts have the cameraman positioned right behind the shooter, quite often the camera is positioned to one side or the other of the person with the bow. This can make it seem from our perspective that the shooter is taking a quartering-to shot, when in fact it may be a broadside shot.
Having said that, a slightly quartering-to shot when the deer is at close range (provided the hunter is very proficient w/his or her bow, and provided the hunter has a good understanding of deer anatomy) in my mind is acceptable, though not the best shot to take.
