We used a wheelbarrow to get the deer out. I later check the distance. I shot the deer 6 miles from my truck. I dragged it 4.5 miles. It weighed 175lbs.
Wow PaMathewsHtr, that's quite a story! I couldn't even imagine going that far with a deer in a wheelbarrow! Like a few other posters here, I have always dragged mine out by just tying on a rope and putting my back into it.
Many times I've been so exhausted and winded (but it was still worth it).
I just couldn't believe what a difference a little plastic underneath made, and wish I would have tried this little trick years ago!
I know a few hunters every year have heart attacks and even die trying to get their prize out of the woods. If your one of those guys you know what I'm talking about, so I hope you give this method a try.
