Default I hate this new rule!!

Well, I don't really, but it does sting a little. Last year in Missouri antler point restrictions were incorporated into 29 counties, with the one I hunt in being included. Well, I was out in stand Friday morning, and had the best opportunity I have had all season. I have been hunting hard and seeing deer, just nothing close enough for an arrow to handle. About 8 I saw a deer walking the adjacent ridge. Cool, I thought. Well, the deer turned, walked down the hill right toward my inside corner I am hunting. Even better!! As it nears, about 60 yards, I notice it is a small basket racked buck. Now I am excited. Folks, this was like right out of a textbook. The deer stops at the field edge 50 yards away, and I give a soft grunt on my Primos tube. He turns and heads right at me. He made his way to my Still Steamin scent trail I laid on my way in, and went absolutely crazy. Snortin, rootin around in the leaves, it was great. Long story short, I had several shots at him, but he was deemed to be an illegal buck, so I let him go.
I know this rule is good for the herd, and I actually agree with it, but it sure does sting!! I have never shot a buck with my bow, and that was the best shot I have ever had. Oh well. Keep at it.
