Default RE: Hunting Ethics Question...

Is it legal? No. But my Grandpa uses one of his farm tags on it and gives me lots of scouting info in return. If my conservation officer found out I'm pretty sure he just ask that we keep tagging them in
Please, read your first statement in the above quote and then read the last statement...does this make sense to you? A CO is there to up hold the law, basically to protcet and serve both hunter and game. I am not sure many (unless he's your relative) would just say hey keep on tagging them and go on his merry way. Ignorance is not a defence in a court of law! So don't ever assume!

I also am wondering how many tags you can get where you hunt? As you state one of his farm tags is used. If it is more than one wouldn't it be acceptable to just give him one you shot LEGALLY???? Like I said sometimes their are way to accomplish the same goal without breaking or if you prefer BENDING the law to suit your purpose!

MNdeerman, bringing in grey areas has nothing to do with this post. I mean you could explain to most CO's why you misjudged your arrival at the truck and at very most you may get a warning. However try explaining why you are in the possession of a deer with another mans tag on it that isn't within ear shot? It becomes a case for the CO of guilty untiul proven otherwise!!!!

Like SJ said up here we don't give our CO's any reason to suspect we are doing anything illegal, so I would also take extra precaution to stay within the laws or regulations set forth for that area. Main reason is they are under funded, under staffed and really I think become plain old salty with seeing stuff go they have no control over. They are suppose to protect but often here they have other battles that hamper them from doing their jobs DAILY and I feel we are sometimes a subject of nothing more than their frustration.I won't go into to detail as it has nothing to do with this discussion but just know anytime your breaking the law you have the potential of getting caught no matter how small you may think it is!
