Default RE: Cell Phones in the woods

I always carry my phone with me because I am usually hunting alone (hubby is off during the week and I am off standard Sat. and Sun.). Even though I am hunting on private land and there is no one anywhere around I just feel safer knowing that I can have contact with the outside world (I walk in about half a mile after I drive in about a quarter of a mile and park). I call and let my Dad know when I am leaving the woods (he lives down the road from where I hunt and apparently worries about me being out there alone even though I am 30 and armed!). Other than that I have it turned off and take a book to read for my entertainment.

I enjoy hunting and being outside and the friendly competition that comes with hunting but the biggest attraction -- for me anyway -- is being unreachable and out of touch. The idea that someone could call and intrude on my time kinda ruins it for me.
