RE: Stupid acorns
Calm down and don't worry about the acorn mast crop too much. Once an acorn drops, it doesn't take long for them to become unappealing to deer cause of worms. They'll only eat really nice acorns. That's why going into winter there's always a gazillion of them left laying on the ground.
I would concentrate first on first, sign. Second, trails. And then figure how funnels fit into the first two.
Are there any ag fields around? I'd bet if they're finished with the mast already - then they're in the corn or beans.
Yes they'll get nuts and be following, stalking, chasing and eventually mounting those does. But the does are still going to be at the food sources.
