Welcome to the board archer-o. The 35 Whelen is a hard hitting cartridge.There are some of them floating around.Remington made some along with Ruger making a "Limited Edition"M-77.I'm sure there were others made I'm not familiar with.If you're looking for one watch
www.gunsamerica.com . I found a NIB Ruger M-77 35 Whelen at a reasonable price.If you handload you can load 158 grain up to 250 grain bullets. The Speer manual shows these bullets.If you don't reload I would steer away from the Whelen. Ammunition is not carried at many stores and can be costly when you do find it. Another option is ordering ammuntion through shooter supply houses which makes it a little more cost efficient.Yes they are nice guns and a excellent cartridge but you'll pay the price..Recoil and Monetary.
