You should not get as much and certainly not more from the 308 than from the 270 WSM.. My Browning A-Bolt Light weight Stalker in 308 has a fair kick to it but it a very light rifle. I have a bad shoulder and the 308 does not bother it until I get to about ten rounds. The recoil may be a bit more than the 300 Savage but not much.
