RE: North American Hunting Club offer
For those that never got anything to "test," you are aware you have to physically sign up. You contact the club, fill out an application telling them what your interests are, what you hunt, what kind of items you use, etc. Then all of that used to have to be mailed back.I think you can do all of this on line now. Also after you test an item you are not eligable for another item until you send in the review from the one you tested.
Over the years, I can think of several things I tested. Granted they were nothing real valuable cost wise, but are things I still use. I mean things like deer grunts, scents, hand warmers, space blankets, a fanny pack, powerbelts (nice to get free ammo), and a universalturkey tool (those are just the ones that come to mind). All of them you of course get to keep.
They do have a great magazine. Their writers include Chuck Adams, Jim Shocky, and a bunch of other big name outdoor writers. You can also send them questions, or comments..and they do at times answer you in the magazine.
The one thing I dislike is all the junk mail you get from them, wanting you to purchase this or that kind of hunting item. Granted the stuff is all top quality and the reviews are all favorable, but if I want to buy a knife for instance, I do not want one so fancy I'd be afraid to take it into the woods...
