Ok heres my story. I use goex FF in my TCA white mountain carbine. I wanted to try those pyrodex 50 gr pellets, but TCA reccomended against it. They say you need more spark than a percussion cap to get consitent fire, so I just never tried it. I love shooting that white mountain carbine, it has some sentimental value. Help me out please.

T/C Inctold youcorrect! Your sidelock White Mountain Carbine needs some loose powder to reach under the #11 nipple for proper ignition. Pellets were intended for use with inlines. Very few sidelocks are designed to accept pellets. Aftermarket 209 conversion nipples are available -- without any written guarantees that it will reliably work when needed.

When window-shoppingloose powder substitutes, Pyrodex Por Triple Se7en FFFwould satisfy both of your rifles.
