RE: 270 question
IF you plan onm shjooting at anything beyond 100 yards, you MUST FIND and use a range that has at least 200 yards miniumum. You cannot expect to zero ANY WEAPON at 50 yards then expect to hit a target at 400 yards! Even the windage will be off if you do, let alone bullet drop!
I used 150-grain Noisler partition bullets for ALL GAME in Alaska in the .270, and only had to shoot one animal more than once (two shots). It was a 300+ pound black bear. In the lower 48, a 130 grainer is all that is needed.
