Good for you Wolfen. I bet the 4 years you spent waiting for the right deer to come along was time well spent in your opinion.

Wolfen - Unlike you I have killed my share of these younger deer in my days. I am more like WV Hunter.WV Hunter has expressed my feelings about hunting almost word for word in the quote above. I feel that I have matured into the hunter that I am today by working my way up from the easy kills of the younger, less wise deer up to the Kings of the woods.

I learned so much those first few years of hunting and laugh when I look back at some of my "theories" about deer and the one thing I love about this game is that if I hunt for a hundred more years, I will never stop learning and discovering...it's simply awesome.

I must pay due respects to the real heroes like WVhunter who are fighting a very tough battle in improving the health and quality of the deer herd that they hunt. The buck-to-doe ratio is incredibly out of whack, and browner downer gun slayers hammer the deer every year but that's not all...the genetics are just flat out poor and yet Mike and his buddies stay true to QDM and take their share of does and let the young deer go so they can grow. If anyone I know gets a monster buck this year, I hope it is him. Good luck buddy!!!
