It would put a halt to the steam rolling effects of leasing, outfitters, and guides turning deer hunting into a rich man's sport. They would still exist but not in the same venue they do now. Supply and demand...more mature bucks in herds throughout the country equals costs go down and more hunters hunt and stay in the game instead of being priced out of it and our sport survives. It's the big picture...not just the one in your woods, out of your treestand.
Wow........you will tell yourself anything to justify the never ending BS
I hope you are joking.......it has no chance of doing any of the things you listed. Not even one. If 140 class bucks roamed every square inch of woods it would not stop the current trends........because guys would pay thousands to shoot BIGGER bucks.........then BIGGER...........then BIGGER. As long as there are people willing to pay the money then it will never stop. There are big and even HUGE bucks to be had in countless thousands of acres of public free land each and every year right now........doesn't stop guys from buying up wall hangers does it?
Go back to your herd health or buck:doe ratio tired routines..........this is just plain laughable.
And as far as your disillusion about monster bucks behind every tree...you couldn't be completely further in left field unless you were in the parking lot. I have buddies who hit it hard every year and don't score on a PY buck and IMO they are quality hunters. I've been a bit luckier but like they say, I'd rather be lucky than good any day...but the point being that it by no means becomes like shooting fish in a barrel. Biological, factual research done on bucks documents that the older they get, the more secretive and elusive they become...sometimes disappearing for years before resurfacing again.
Why do you live in such denial?? Did you not read TXHighrack say it was no challenge at all to kill a "mature" buck on his land?? Did you not see the multiple posts from guys who said their land hadn't produced a "trophy" in decades and now they kill a couple a year and see them all the time??
Wake up and smell what you're shovelin'
It is simple probability........if there are many more big bucks in the woods then you will see them more, get more chances at them and yes......kill them more often then if there are very few of them. Why do you think the most deer get killed during the first day of gun season in every state?? Because they get dumber that day??.........no.........it's because they lose the numbers game. Too many guys in the woods to get away from. Send 2 guys out in the woods and then send out 200 and see which group kills more deer.
Guys kill HUGE deer by the thousands EVERY year............and that is when they are few and far between. How many do you think they would kill if say you doubled the number of those big bucks in the woods through QDM??...........figure that out and you may just begin to see how deep your BS really is.
Believe me...it's all the challenge a hunter could hope for IMO.
That's weird.........TXHighrack says it's no "challenge" at all........and all the other guys had to do was let them grow a couple years before shooting them and PRESTO!!!!!!!!.....now they whack 'em every year.
Doesn't sound like "all the challenge" anyone could hope for to me.
I could have picked some of the vegetables in my garden whenever I wanted to this year.........but I let some of them dangle there longer then others and get nice and big and ripe before I took them. Doesn't make me feel like a better gardener.
