Default RE: Let 'em go and let 'em grow

There are often limits, laws, and restrictionson the size of a fish one can keep and there evidently must be on the size of a buck a hunter can take for so many people to ever be accepting of the concept which is unfortunate. []
The entire"fish-size-limit" analogy doesn't work wolfen. I haven't read all the posts here, so this may have been pointed out already, but guess what, fish are not deer.

Do you really want to manage deer like fish? If so, then we must close the open season during the breeding period (rut)like they do with bass during spawning. Also, anglers are not encouraged to keep pregnant females of any fish species I know...how does letting all the female deer get a pass fit in with managing deer?

The fish to deer analogy doesn't work for several reason, one being...fish aren't deer. They are different species (1), inhabiting different ecosystems (2) that have completely opposite management strategies (3). The goal of managing fisheries is to keep the population up so there is opportunity for everyone. You want high numbers of the particular species being managed. Deer are managed just the opposite...we aim to reduce the herd in most places to keep the habitat healthy.

There might be a good reasons for antler point restrictions, but comparing fish to deer isn't one of them, and is just plain silly.
