It doesnt really matter how high you have the camera on the tree. The most important thing is that your sensor, which shoots out perpendicular from the camera, is pointing low enough or high enough to hit midway on a deer. If you put the camera low on a tree you might have to put a stick behind it to prop up the bottom of it or vice versa with the top. Everytime i move my camera to a new tree, i get down on my knee's beside it and make sure that the sensor will hit about 3ft off the ground on the trail/bait, or where ever you plan on getting pictures.
