I would leave the area alone for a few days and then I would hunt it from the outside in.Meaning area's in the same locale but no where near you jumped him.See what kind of activity takes place,in my home area if a mature buck gets pressure in the early season they will go nocturnal very fast.The benefit of being overly cautious is that it leaves you the opportunity to keep at it versus blowing him out of the area.
