several of you hit on the key issue in Gary Alts plan. That bigger bucks are a by product of a healthy herd with a 1/1 buck doe ratio. the basic principle he is utilizing are proven elsewhere. The tough part of his job is applying those proven principles in a state with a much different "herd" of hunters than most. That is why he has come up with some unprecedented ideas. They may not all work, and he has said so, but they are based on science and that's exactly what we need. He won't make things better here overnight but things will be better eventually. The "good old days" of Pa deer hunting are just ahead of us!
