Default RE: hunting bullets for 300 RUM

I guess may be I should upgrade my question. Could someone who has done the homework on the 300 RUM save me some time at the shooting bench? I've spent years as an elk guide and have some pretty good knowlege on bullet performance. What I would really like is to have a bullet that will hold up for elk and still give me my best chance at 1000 yrd. coyote (bad year for them here and the *&^$&^$#%#*& killed one of my hounds a while back). Once I have my ballistics worked up, Leupold will send me a turrent with the yardages out to 1000 yrds. The Trophy Bonded and Partitions are a couple of the best weight retention bullets going, but are not designed for that long distance ^%$&^%& coyote that ate my dog.
