It will work!!!!! I put up a stand this morning that is only 7'. I do have it on a ridge with an old logging road about 30 yds. below it. I like to be at least 12' up but I have several stands that are around 10' or so. And have taken alot of deer from them. Use it!!!!!!! When you got the extra $$$$$$ get you another one that is higher. Or better yet get you a climbing stand. Good huntin, Scott Woody
