I do a lot of hunting like this myself and I find that if you draw your bow first then bend at the waist remembering not to drop your bow arm your shot placement should be fine. And as far as judging your distances always go by distance not how far down the animal is. Gravity will not affect your shot enough to worry about. I hope this helps you like I said it works for me .
