Get one of these for it.
Kick Killer I have one that I switch from rifle to rifle and it works great. Just put it over the pad that is already on the gun.
As far as weight you could get the steel bar that comes in the Ultra's if you want. Or just find out the diameter you need and get some bar stock from a local machine shop or something. The mercury filled Benelli recoil reducer will fit as well from what I hear, but they are like 50 bucks. Some put lead shot in a tube or pipe, that might be a cheaper whay to go. Just take off the recoil pad and put them in the long hole that runs thru your stock.
As far as the ammo, from what I have seen and read there is not a huge performance increase when going from 2 3/4 to 3 inch shells in modern slugs. I honestly don't think they kick that bad though. I can never understand why people complain so much about them. I would rather shoot slugs than turkey load or high powered rifle, and I won't even talk about the 3 1/2 inch turkey loads!
I think you did well for yourself, let us know when you find some shells that feed well thru it. My Ultra slug gun actually likes the cheap rifled slugs. You just need to clean the barrel evert 4 shots or so. If you don't the accuracy goes to hell fast. But the first three shots out of a clean barrel are great.
Oh, make sure you take it apart and clean it VERY well before you shoot. Get some pressurized air or cleaner and spray the crap out of it. From what I understand they have a lot of metal shavings in the action and stuff from the factory. I got mine used, so it wasn't an issue.
