RE: Who thinks hunting over feeders or bait is wrong?
Like I said in another post, corn or bait isn't magic. Yes the deer may eat it, but its usually at night. Bait alone will rarely bring a mature deer out of its nacturnal ways.
I have hunted overcorn and bait all my life and have never shot a mature buck off of a corn pile. I think that ya'll who have never tried it thinks if you throw some golden "magic" on the ground that the deer Gods just toss down deer like rain drops. This is so far from true.
I assure yousomeone that hunts over bait or feeders has to use the same precautions as someone who doesn't. And it takes just as much skill as someone who doesn't.Just b/c theres feed there doesn't mean you don't have to scout to find out where to put the feed in the first place. You have to select the right stand placment, watch the wind, and every other thing that you have to do w/o using any.
I honestly don't put corn to attract bucks b/c I never really had any luck with mature deer over bait. I use it mostly to attract does that will have bucks following them.
Let me ask the ones who oppose it this question. Do you think that hunting over an oak tree that you planted is the same as hunting over bait?
