common this isnt a fair compairison. a small center fire to a rimfire. there is also a huge difference in ammo cost and speed and power

the 17 hmr isnt the best choise for yotes but it will get it done if that all you have to use. a well placed shot to the vitals aorund 100 yards or so. as for bullet choise alot of people will say the 20 gr XPT or gamepoints butthe v max will work as long as its not closer thne 50 yards. at close range the bullet will splash and not penitrate but farther tehn that its fine. theres a guy on preditor masters that only uses his 17hmr with vamx for yotes and has take very large yotes with it.
