Don't worry my 300 is now broke, it's a 1 year old remington 700 LSS and now the gun fires when you take it off safety. Thought they fixed this problem, actually I had a fireing pin punch through a primer, now it fires when the safety is put on fire.
Sorry to hear about the rifle. This is just another example of why I don't and won't own a Remington 700. Maybe you can send it back or have a gunsmith correct the problem.
