It will also depend on the terrain around you. You can make it work if everything around you is flat (as stated above with cover) or if you are on a hill looking down on a trail. I had a bear stand that was on the side of the hill and the bear would come in above me and look down into the stand to see if I was there. I always sat behind a tree so I was hidden. You should be able to make it work...somebody else did.
