Default Replacement deer

I just read in the HuntingNet.Com News (CWD item) that it takes a doe six years to provide a replacement for itself.

WHAT? I don't believe this is numerically possible, is it? Does can get hit up as a yearling, right? I'm 99% sure that their offspring are not all male for 5 years.

What's the deal?
